Oreo
Our first Ocicat was a beautiful black silver boy, Merrydancer Andro, we called him Oreo, after the American black and white cookie. He joined our house with Whispa the Tonkinese with whom he was brought up with on the 13th of February 2005. Born on the 11th of November 2004 it seems his birthday suited him well, Remembrance day, Oreo died within a short time of being with us, but we will always remember him just like every year on his birthday millions of fallen soldiers all over the world are thought about. Oreo was a wonderful cat, he was very clever, affectionate, full of fun and energy and although Whispa was double the size of him he always stood up for himself when the play fights got too rough. He packed in such a lot in his 5 months of life. He was well travelled, having been brought down from Sleaford and also took a 2 hour car journey to a cat show near Bristol, as well as numerous visits to our parents homes. At the cat show he not only won his open class and a third in a side class but took the best of breed as well. Some cats out there never get the chance to experience all that Oreo had done in their whole lives.
His ashes are now kept in pride of place in our living room in a beautiful wooden box with his name plaque on, he was a house cat, as all our cats are, so to sprinkle his ashes outside would seam too cruel, people may think we are strange for wanting to keep him near us like this but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Oreo we love and miss you and will see you again one day at Rainbow Bridge. Just because you are gone doesn’t mean you are forgotten. XXX
